BURR FORMATION AT THE INTERFACE DURING BI-MATERIAL ORTHOGONAL CUTTING

نویسندگان

چکیده

To reduce the size of exit burrs induced by broaching, it is possible to use a low value martyred part clamped functional one on tool side. Thence, this research work deals with an in-situ analysis burr formation at bi-specimens interface in orthogonal cutting configuration. New mechanisms formed Inconel 718 and cast iron specimens are identified. In addition, post-machining study carried out quantify obtained without part.

Burr Formation in Fly-cutting

Micro-groove is one of the most important features in mechanical, electronic, photonic, and bio-medical components. In recent years, fabircation of micro-grooves became increasingly important with an advancement of product miniaturisation. It is realised that in micro-machining of grooves, the principal problem is the presence of burrs along the feature edges and also the profile inaccuracy aff...

Stress Analysis at a Bi-Material Interface Crack-tip

The optical methods of Caustics, Photoelasticity and Isopachics for the evaluation of the stress intensity factors and the distribution of the principal stresses at a bi-material interface crack-tip, were proposed. The caustics, isochromatic and isopachic fringes are developed from the stress field which results from a stress function X(r, ). When the crack-tip, which is perpendicular to interf...

In situ strain measurement in the chip formation zone during orthogonal cutting

The in situ strain measurements during orthogonal cutting were performed to get information about the local stress state in the chip formation zone. These results will be used to verify and extend existing chip formation models. Until now the existing chip formation models, e.g. [1-3] are relying on a number of restricting preconditions, because the strain and stress fields in the chip formatio...

reflection and refraction of elastic waves at a corrugated interface in a bi-material transversely isotropic full-space

the existing theory for wave propagation through a soil layer are not compatible with the real soil layers because in the theory the layers are flat and the sub-layers are parallel, while in real the soil layers are not flat and they may not be parallel. thus, wave propagations through a corrugated interface are so important. in this paper, a two-dimensional sh-wave propagation through a corrug...

A Slip-line Field for Ploughing during Orthogonal Cutting

Under normal machining conditions, the cutting forces are primarily due to the bulk shearing of the workpiece material in a narrow zone called the shear zone. However, under finishing conditions, when the uncut chip thickness is of the order of the cutting edge radius, a ploughing component of the forces becomes significant as compared to the shear forces. Predicting forces under these conditio...
